The Basics
*** EMPLOYEE EDUCATION ***
Without a doubt, the most important services we provide is employee education. We use a comprehensive approach that consists of:
- Benefit summary handouts easily understood by the majority of employees. (These can be available in languages other than English). If time permits, we suggest distributing this material prior to the employee meetings.
- Employee meetings, scheduled at your convenience, to discuss the benefit highlights in the handout and to introduce our representative. These meetings are meant to be very interactive with questions and answers throughout. After the meeting, private sessions are available for any employee wishing to discuss their personal situations.
- Phone access to our sales and service staff during normal working hours. E-mail access 24 - 7 to answer additional questions or clarify information from the material and meetings.
- For selected clients, customized benefits websites.
It has been our experience that many problems are eliminated and employee apprehension is reduced by this process.
*** ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE ***
- A real person answers our telephones during normal business hours. We don’t use irritating multiple choice menus and your call won’t disappear into the black hole of voice mail.
- In addition to your consultant, a service representative will be assigned to your group. This means that you and your employees will speak to the same individual every time you call. In this way a personal relationship can be established.
- If we are working on a problem for you, we will keep you informed of our progress if it’s going to take more than a day.
- We keep our clients advised of any changes in the COBRA and HIPAA laws and provide updated materials.
- Quarterly, we ask our clients to grade our efforts, tell us of any problems and make suggestions for improvements. Our service survey helps us resolve small issues before they become serious problems.
*** MARKET SEARCH ***
Annually, prior to your renewal, we will take your plan out to bid in order to determine if there is a "better buy" available in the marketplace. We do this for two very important reasons. First, we want you to be aware of what is in the marketplace. This will allow you to make an informed decision. Secondly, we use these competitive quotes to negotiate with the incumbent carrier when they are calculating your renewal. Very seldom are renewals "written in stone". As your representative, it is our job to assure that your renewal is at the lowest level acceptable to the underwriters. We prepare detailed spread sheets comparing both benefits and rates as well as a list of recommendations for your review. Remember, our loyalty is to you, our client, and not to any insurance company.
*** INFORMATION UPDATES ***
You will receive a weekly newsbrief highlighting benefits related issues that may affect your group.
